The Douglasville Police Department is having a Parenting 101 class on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, starting at 6:30 pm in the Douglasville Police Department Community Room.
We will have community leaders discussing various topics.

Most people do yoga for flexibility. Did you know it also supports stress management, mental health, mindfulness, healthy eating, and quality sleep? We invite you, yes the public, our community, to grab a mat and come join us. On nice days we will have yoga on our lawn, and on cold or wet days we will have it in the Douglasville Police Department Community Room next to the main building. This is a FREE class once a month on a scheduled Wednesday evening that begins at 5:30 pm and lasts about an hour. The Douglasville Police Department invites everyone to fellowship together while discussing topics impacting our community. Discussions are held on the 2nd & 4th Thursday of the month. (No 4th Thursday meetings in November or December, nor on holidays). We speak on local issues and work together as one for the benefit of the community. The Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville/ Douglas County (CAC) welcomes 2023 with a collection to inspire the Nations. The exhibit “Descendants Ascending” is displayed in honor of Black History Month, on display from January 9 through February 17, weekdays 9 am – 5 pm. Everyone from near and far is invited to the opening reception on Saturday, January 28, from 5-7 pm, hosted by Douglas County Connection.
On the evening of Saturday, January 28, from 5-7 pm, the gallery will be open for the memorable reception, provided generously by DC Connection. The DC Connection was founded by Helen Catron in 1990. During the past 24 years, the DC Connection has established, supported, and sponsored community events that enrich the cultural experience in the Arts, particularly as it relates to African American culture and history. Douglasville Police Department is having a Town Hall Meeting at the Police Department Community Room located at 2083 Fairburn Rd, Douglasville, GA 30135. Our topics will be the 2022 End of Year Report and discussion on violent crimes. If you want to know about the performance of your local police department or get more in-depth knowledge on violent crime, join us.

The Bracelet bar is a hands-on “Experience” that includes a palette of Declarations in bead form, promoting emotional wellness. There are over 30 Declarations. Participants will decide on their declarations, assemble and intentionally live out chosen declarations as a personal commitment to living a harmonious life. Through the process of creating your adornments, you will dream of your future, and later wear your mantras! The Declaration Bracelet Bar is a tangible reminder to be the best version of yourself, an EXPERIENCE for personal and professional development. The Declaration Bracelet bar is for both adults and youth, with collections for all ages available. All beads are handmade using polymer clay. All supplies included.
The Rising Men of Douglasville is a program that has been established to help with community outreach and mentor youthful offenders by displaying values, character, honesty, and integrity. We are calling all men who feel the need to make a difference in our community! We will discuss community values, involvement, and commitment to change. If you want to partner with us to make positive influences on our young people, be a part of this group of leaders coming together for the good of the community. Come in and fill out an application.
